Born in Philadelphia, I was deeply influenced by my grandfather, also an artist. All of my life, he has inspired me and encouraged me in my chosen path. As a contemporary artist, I'm open to every genre and way of thinking, always changing, never comfortable with my skill set, always wanting more.
My formal education is from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Colorado, but it was after I came to New York that my education truly began. I paint at the height of emotion and I think that this is influenced by my surroundings. New York has allowed me to observe; I watch and listen to the viewer.
I believe that there is much more in a painting than the artist ever intends to share. It is fascinating to catch that moment when a viewer understands my intentions with a piece or when they show me something I haven't seen.
Currently I am preparing for my solo show at The Urban Foundation Gallery on March 1st 2016. It will be a one month run ending on March 31th. I am so grateful to be able to show my work on a larger platform. A big thank you to everyone involved.
